Francesco Fonti

Francesco Fonti was born in Calabria in 1950 but enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture La Sapienza in Rome. His professional activity begins in Calabria immediately after graduation but soon moves permanently to Rome. He begins his working life in Saint Gobain, a leading company in the glass sector, and continues as an entrepreneur in the same sector with design and construction projects even in prestigious locations.
During his breaks from work he loves to take long summer walks in the mountains, or even in town, to discover new views off the beaten tourist track, looking for works by famous architects or, instead, less well-known ones.
Following his retirement he begins to devote his time and efforts to his great passions: opera music and, above all, the passion for painting.
His pictorial research has had a slow evolution starting from traditional techniques up to the experimentation of unconventional materials such as glass and mirrors; from abstract compositions with different colors and shades to landscapes and insertion of people in wide-ranging landscapes.
