Andrea Felice

Beyond the boundaries of time

The material realization of Andrea Felice's works is articulated, first in his mind and then takes material form through a small sketch. In a second phase, the artist assembles the iconographic language of Piranesi and then leads to the search for illustrations, film frames and images of Barks comics. Reality lives in fantasy and is realized in the final product of Andrea Felice that, through the acquisition of images with high-resolution scanners and the rendering of parts of the picture in 3D, using modeling software, it brings to life a digital layout constituting the parts of the picture in the final resolution and size.

Reality lives in fantasy and is realized in the final product of Andrea Felice that, through the acquisition of images with high-resolution scanners and the rendering of parts of the picture in 3D, using modeling software, it brings to life a digital layout constituting the parts of the picture in the final resolution and size.

Some elements of the soul of the work are handmade using traditional instruments such as brush and airbrush and colored with acrylics, china, markers, crayons and ecolines. The printing of the bottom takes place on forex but the parts of the painting are made on cardboard, the subjects are traced on a bright table and also colored manually.
Felice hand-cut all the parts that make up the composition and finally dedicates himself to the final assembly using vinyl glues and adhesive sprays, before this step the artist captures the images with drum scanner, then cleaning the parts using a photo editing program.
The images are 90% black and white, so Andrea redesigns and colors them in order to make them three-dimensional.
A process that absorbs manual processing with modern technologies, qualifying Felice as an innovator in the artistic landscape. His works, from the depiction to the generative process, are a combination of past and contemporary to which the artist voice panders to a spiritual investigation. What may seem like a digital art product is actually the child of a material workmanship that includes multiple manual passages, a complex research also to theorize and tell. Andrea Felice is an exception in the panorama of Italian artists, absorbing in his artistic research multiple languages.
